When a decision has been made not to have any services, and you simply want to have only an immediate cremation, you may be interested in our most basic and lowest priced cremation package. Once all the necessary legal documents are in place, the remains will be transferred from the hospital or institution to the crematory.
Minimal Direct Cremation includes licensed funeral director and other staff, registrations, equipment, facilities, and general overhead to respond to initial request for service; local transfer of remains to the funeral home & custodial care of remains for initial eight (8) hours; securing necessary authorizations and coordination of plans with parties involved in final disposition of the deceased; placement of remains in a purchaser supplied container, standard local transfer of remains to the crematory, return of cremains to the funeral home.
If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an unfinished wood box or an alternative container. Alternative containers can be made of heavy cardboard, pressed-wood or composition materials (with or without an outside covering), or pouches of canvas or other materials. New York State Cemetery law and the local crematories require a rigid outer container. Local crematory fees are additional.
